WE MOVE Answers Patients' Questions about Botulinum Neurotoxin Therapy

Botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) injection therapy has become the standard of care for focal dystonia and other neurologic disorders. However, physicians and other health care professionals are often challenged to answer their patients' questions about this therapy. WE MOVE routinely polls visitors to its website. Recently, 252 people living with dystonia or spasticity were surveyed regarding their understanding of basic terminology related to BoNT therapy. Although survey respondents were overwhelmingly confident in their knowledge, they demonstrated an astounding inability to recognize correct definitions of basic terms related to BoNT therapy.
